Summary
Khalid Almazrouei has graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in Networking and Cybersecurity from Marymount University (Magna Cum Laude); a Master in Cybersecurity Strategies and Information Management from George Washington University; and a Master in Computer Forensics from George Mason University. The combination of these different degrees offers him a solid background in the both technical and strategic aspect of cybersecurity.
At Brunel University, his studies deal with the areas of cybersecurity governance, risk management frameworks and compliance standards. He is particularly concerned with the question of how the enterprises can adopt and align international standards like ISO 27001 and UAE-NESA with their internal governance models in order to increase cyber resilience and assure regulatory compliance.
Possessing over 10 years of professional experience, Khalid has participated in leading full-scale red team operations, implementing proactive vulnerability assessment programs, and also, laying down cybersecurity policy across various critical environments. He has been a cybersecurity lecturer and an advocate of security awareness. He has designed and taught practical training courses that focused on minimizing human-related risks and developing a strong security culture within the organization. His work links the gap between securing the knowledge and using it in practice i.e. through better governance and risk-aware leadership, he aims at strengthening the cybersecurity posture.
