Bright Futures UK is a charity dedicated to addressing the critical gap in the education system for young people with long-term illness. The organisation provides tailored programmes to help people keep up with their studies, make social connections, and continue with life.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will help to build a fun, supportive safe space for seriously ill young people. As a Befriender, you will develop your communication and organisation skills, and build confidence in those you meet with.
Typical duties include:
- Meeting with a young person for an hour a week
- Engaging in a positive and friendly way
- Adapting to new activities and needs
- Maintaining consistent availability across the period of volunteering
Please note, the organisation requires a DBS check (fully funded) and asks that you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
